About the Book

In a world where almost everything evokes sadness, anguish, pathos, and absurdity and where there the level of trivialization has become staggering," Laugh Your Way to Wisdom" is just what we need. As its title suggests, this book combines two striking features: it has ability to make us laugh as well as it has power to make us rethink our taken-for-granted assumptions about life. The book is a collection of funny and insightful anecdotes. Its main character is seen by everybody as an idiot and yet he seems to be the only one with a good understanding of the world. His witty ripostes defy our common sense and show us how ridiculously funny our cherished preconceptions are. The anecdotes resonate with our perception of how inadequate politicians are. The caliph Aaron whose total lack of wisdom runs throughout the book is a reminder of our latter-day world rulers. Likewise, his comical imbecility is shown in a hilarious way. The best thing about this book is its especial way of telling us not to take things serious for nothing is what it seems to be. In this sense, it is reminiscent of Oscar Wilde’s witticism. So,If you want to throw away sadness, unhappiness, stress, depression, upset, awfulness, pain, violation, horror etc, just read it and you will see that by reading it how comfort you will feel. this book is full of short tales and stories of really funny and at the same time wise characters who not only make you laugh but also make you think more and gain moral lessons. With much simple word and expression, you go in the middle of the simple world of the funny ancient figures, the world that we expect in this complicated and unnatural life. I have compiled these anecdotes from different Persian, Turkish and Arabic resources and translated them into English.
