About the Author
As a small child the author lived 15 miles from central London in Cudham, a village not much more than a mile from the Darwins¡¦ Down House at Downe„© in north Kent, without knowing it (then!). Later in life, she taught biology in Shrewsbury in the 1980s and 90s. In 2008, and in another context, the author devised these very belated ¡¥thank yous¡¦ to her ¡¥universities of the horse¡¦. Hippocampus Cymru expresses gratitude to the University College of Wales @ Aberystwyth, as it was then, for all their enthusiastic support during her research on horses many years ago. Hippocampus Saxonia is for institutions in Essen, Verden, Celle and Adelheisdorf (these last three in Lower Saxony, Germany) for enlightenment and guidance concurrently those many years ago. Received with enthusiasm generally they evolved into her imaginary Mythocampus creatures found herein. The author is a synaesthete. „©The village name ends in ¡¥e¡¦; the house name does not.
