About the Book

Of love, life, identity and other coordinates is a collection of poems inspired by the author’s own life experiences. Each poem explores different dimensions of life as a lyrical journey; a journey filled with tribulations, emotional upheaval and self-discovery. Falling in love, experiencing heartbreak, and searching for directions are among the key topical points presented by the author. The rhythmical lines that frame each poem are interwoven by means of metaphorical language which aims at creating reflective spaces for the readers. In essence, these spaces allow for a diverse array of interpretations based on the readers’ personal paths through life.

About the Author

Cuban-born Lemay decided to trade her academic robes for a new career in Media when she enrolled in the Masters Programme in Film and Media at the prestigious University of Cape Town’s Centre for Film Studies in early 2010. Lemay has a passion for writing, and is highly interested in exploring issues that concern social and economic human developments. This interest has taken her to different parts of the developing world including countries like Uganda and Tanzania. She has made South Africa her temporary home and more specifically the coastal town of Gordon’s Bay in Cape Town.
