About the Book
Secrets of the East African Wilderness is a collection of accounts of man interacting with his environment. It documents how snake poison was discovered before medical science had developed, or how to kill a leopard using a spear only or club. It documents the life of animals such as pythons, lions, hyenas and many more and especially encounters with man. It contains factual accounts.
About the Author
Born in Soroti, Uganda in 1962, George Malinga teaches Mathematics at Kampala International University. He is the author of several mathematics books but has also developed a passionate interest for story writing as a pastime to break from the monotony of academic life. ‘Secrets of the East African Wilderness’ is a compilation of narratives of true experiences of people interacting with animals for food, defense and/or a shared habitat. It provides insights necessary for understanding the historical perspective of how people survived in the sparsely populated East African wilderness before the era of modernization and technology interrupted their lifestyle.
