About the Book

At present j. guevara (yes, that´s small ´j´ - no period - small ´g´.  Who are we to disagree?)  is somewhere in the jungles of Central America.  With a computer powered by eight solar panels, j. and his jungle buddies – a dozen monkeys led by the worldly savvy of Maloney and the aging wisdom of Papa Joe – expound their uniquely simian perspective, a thought provoking insight into the comic tragedy of the human race.  As Papa Joe points out, “For all you´s intelligence never forget it was a monkey, not a man, that was first in space.”

Although this Motley Crew, as they’re affectionately known, gives us a gut splitting laugh at ourselves, Papa Joe in his comment to j. after a recent destruction to their habitat gives us a serious side to ponder: “Don’t worry ‘bout us, j.  We be fine right were we is.  We knows where we comes from, so we knows where we go.  Unlike humans we don’t die, we jus’ becomes one.  You’s different, though.  You´s the one with somethin’ to worry over.  You done cut your connection to all that’s real.  So unless you reconnect, when you die, you’s dead and gone.  Ain’t nobody comin’ to resurrect y´all,  and ain’t nobody atoned for you´s wrongs.  Believes anything you wants to believes, but you best believes this: for Man that hole is deep and dark and cold, and ain’t nobody gonna talk ‘bout you when you’s gone.”

For those that doubt j´s source of this jungle insight, he comments:  Many will say I had an illusion, for nothing in the jungle speaks to Man, it’s just animals, birds, bugs, trees...  I understand their query, though I no longer share their doubt, for you see the defining line here is truth, which is unique in everyone who cares to see.  Thus the truth that abides in each one of you is what makes you different from the truth that abides in we.  the ´we´ truth, however, the one we readily share, is but an agreed realty, which makes reality nothing more than a collective hunch.  Therefore, truth is not important in the question of, ‘To be or not to be…’  For in truth what you’ll find is that only,

Imagination,  …shall set you free.
