Shirley Diamond present her first published children book " Andy The Allacamel" This book was inspired by her two grandsons they lived in Holland in The Netherlands they would send her drawing she live in Las Vegas and she always place them on her refrigerator Ron, saw the drawing and said out loud “ that look like a “Allacamel” a cross between a Alligator and a camel and that is how the title came about. Shirley was born in New Orleans , she married and departed from that City in 1962 and not only did she leave but , her parents and sister came along too her parent put all of their real estate on the market and move west California . She had done some writing before but never had anything published. But, When Katrina , happened she cried and wished she could do something to help the people in the worst area the 9th ward you see this is where she grew up What can i do, what can i do she said over and over’ She remembered she had writen this book and decided to try to have it published and with the profits if that happen she would set up Grants and other mean for children to go to College and get a good education because the two most important things in her life are her grandsons children and education
