In the mid 1670’s, Juan Ignacio de Castilla y Riojas commands a 15 ship Spanish Armada to the New World, where he weds Doña Antonia Cortinas and starts a family that in 1922, intersects with a pioneer Texas family from Scotland and starts the Lyalls of Texas. This is the story of struggles to succeed, the Riojas in Mexico, and the Lyalls in Texas. While their generations take wild swings seeming to always march to a different drummer, in the end, their point of encounter is the same, Eagle Pass, Texas.The present generation´s story is told by following the author, an internationally respected airline pioneer, executive, and entrepreneur, as he marches to his own drum in search of a career in the Caribbean and Latin America.
