About the Book

The Place Revisited is set in rural Virginia in 1957. Friends gather at The Place, and the memories of these experiences remain vivid and clear for a lifetime.

Two high school seniors, Susan Garrett and Jim Williamson, revel in their discovery of youthful love that intensifies at The Place. As Susan deals with a serious illness, Jim, young and passionate about Susan, struggles to accept life’s frailties. As Jim’s anguish heightens, friends and families rally around the couple.

About the Author

John Goiser was born in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, and moved to Orange, Virginia, in 1941. After completing his elementary education in Orange and high school at Woodberry Forest, he enrolled in the University of Virginia and received his BA and doctor of medicine. Dr. Goiser served twenty-two years of active duty in the U.S. Army Medical Corps with tours in Kentucky, Hawaii, Maryland, West Germany, Texas, and South Carolina. In the service, he finished a rotating internship, pediatric residency, and an allergy fellowship. Dr. Goiser lives in South Carolina with his wife. He is also the author of The Place Revisited, and he likes to write fictional novels.
