THE CRYSTAL RIVER is the story of a woman whose husband, hospitalized after injuries in the Korean War, fathered an illegitimate son and came home to his adored wife and two young children without telling what happened. The novel concerns itself with the psychological-spiritual development of the husband and wife after the story is revealed, and also with the surprising relationships maturing between the young Korean son who reveals psychic powers, his mother and the American family. A sub-theme addresses learning active imagination (from Carl Jung’s depth psychology. to help healing the husband after a disastrous accident.
About the Author
Anne Sweetser Watson lives with her husband, Hoyt, in Marion, Massachusetts, near Cape Cod. The Watsons have four grown children. Anne has been writing most of her life, but she says she began to take it seriously only after she was in her eighties. She has written the story of her family; a biography of her mother; “THE WELL”, a collection of poems, and two children’s books, all three illustrated by her daughter, Mary Watson Hawley.
