About the Book

In our materialistic and technology obsessed society, the younger generation find themselves overwhelmed and pressured to perform, acquire, and obtain instant gratification. As a result, we are witnessing an alienation and detachment among our youth. Most young women dream about finding the right boyfriend, having the perfect body, wearing the latest styles and the ideal career. The author’s objective is to empower young women, intrinsically, while challenging the belief that fulfillment and purpose exist outside of us. Dani LaRoche has spoken and mentored many young women and teen girls who feel a profound sense of loss. Loss of innocence, identity and purpose. In this honest and heartfelt book, no stone is left unturned. She writes on how to survive a break up, competition and jealousy from other girls, how to become assertive, not aggressive; to the epidemic of bullying, “drama”, teen pregnancy, anxiety and depression. In the end, what matters most are love, respect and self-actualization. LaRoche tackles myriad issues that affect young women today. About the Author

Dani LaRoche went to Boston University, where she majored in Psychology and Philosophy. She worked as a model for twenty years in New York City and left the business to pursue her love of writing. This is her second book; the first, a book of poetry, Braver I. In addition, she has edited two books and various articles. The author has spoken and encouraged teens and young women in schools, churches and twelve step programs. She also advocates for abused women and children trapped in sex trafficking. Dani has two grown children and resides in Westchester County with her cat, Bethany.
