About the Book
Book of Job as it appears in the Hebrew and Christian bibles, is the canonically authorized text; appearing originally in Hebrew, followed by Greek, Aramaic, Coptic and English versions. There has never been widespread agreement as to what is the message of the Book of Job, nor even agreement as to what is the central question of the book.. Subsequent emendations and redactions have resulted in a puzzlement of interpretations. It is agreed by many reviewers that these alterations did not come from the hand of the original author, and that he had a different intent and conclusion than that imposed by the canonical text.
About the Author
Norman MacRitchie is neither a theologian nor a biblical scholar; Engineering is his profession, but his interests are not thereby limited. He has spent many hours in study and research on the Book of Job. Since reading the book in his youth it became obvious to him, that the Sunday School lesson of the patience of Job, and his reward therefore, was simply popular belief not truth. He discovered other doubtful characterizations and interpretations of the Book of Job. In subsequent years many hours were spent reading and re-reading seeking clarification and a better understanding of the true story of Job..
