About the Book
Tha Gurlz navigates through adulthood with Babygurl, Doll, and Sandy. They face the issues of abortion, race, is Jesus Black and if He is does it matter, the diff erence between sex and love, death, friendship, and life’s lesson that the seeds you sow will be the seeds you reap. Babygurl goes from a church gurl to selling bricks. Doll grew up in the Fairground and goes to great lengths to ensure that her future will not play out there. Sandy’s mother dies and she moves to Chicago. She fills the void with crack. Will Tha Gurlz ride or die?
About the Author
Ellen R. Yates, author and poet is dedicated to writing about real life issues. Michael Allen Townsend, author of Black Power says that “reading should strengthen the mind, not weaken it.” This is Ellen’s debut novel and it is full of flavor. She resides in Chester, PA with one of her two children and is currently working towards a Master’s Degree in Pastoral Care and Counseling. If asked she will inform you that she is addicted to words.
