Kai has not heard or seen from her high school sweetheart, the shady Elder Joe Turner for three years. He has been in Africa working on a project for Mount Calm church. She promised she would wait for him but Sister Jossi Green went to be with him in Africa. Then she meets Peter Valdez a handsome Filipino deputy sheriff who has stolen her heart. About the Author

Gwendolyn Ashley, simply know as Gwen to her family and friends resides in Vallejo, CA. When she is not writing you can find her caring for those around her. She is the mother of three adult children and seven grandchildren. She has been employed at Alta Bates Summit Medical Center for 21 years. She was captured by the writing bug in 1974 when she won the Rockland County New York, "What Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. means to Me" contest. This is her second novel encouraged by the love of her life Rickey, she took the steps to follow her dreams and is achieving her recognition as an up and coming author.
