About the Book

This book is about the changes in lifestyle that I encountered as I advanced through life. As I matured, I grew in both mind and body. My interests changed as new opportunities opened up for me to consider. Sometimes, the change was required to overcome some major crisis like the loss of a loved one or learning about a serious medical condition that would adversely affect my future. How a person deals with this change is important to each of us individually, but we must also consider the impact that the change will have on others around us. Realizing and fully understanding the need for change and making a decision to implement the changes that are needed is sometimes a difficult decision for us to make. How we change as we continue down life’s path is very important, and we must make the decision with an open mind, a positive attitude, and the best information available.

About the Author

Joseph Easley has worked continuously for the past sixty-eight years to create a better lifestyle for himself and his immediate family. He was the first member of his extended family to earn a college degree. When an opportunity opened for him to get involved with a new, emerging technology, he decided that the risk was reasonable and quickly advanced along with the industry. As a computer systems specialist and operations research analyst, he received the highest award that is given by a federal government agency, a gold medal for outstanding performance. During his career, he has traveled extensively throughout the European communities, Scandinavia, Eastern Europe, Northern Africa, Middle East, South America, and several Asian countries, including Korea, Japan, and the Republic of China. He has worked directly with the highest levels of government and commercial organizations, implementing computer systems designed to make life easier and more manageable for everyone. He has served the communities where he has lived as a volunteer for the Boy Scouts of America programs, editor of technical magazines, and president of the computer professional society. For the past fifteen years, he has served as an elected member of the board of directors and treasurer for a large vacation beach resort. At the request of several members of his immediate family, the author decided to share some of his experiences to show how a person can have fun while advancing through life and overcome adversity by keeping an open mind and maintaining a positive attitude.
