Rest
Sunday used to be my only day of rest
With cancer I get seven in a row at best.
Siestas galore
Sometimes one hour,
Sometimes more.
I’m a human being now
Had turned into
A human doing somehow.
No time to rest:
Be productive, full of zest.
Do, do, do…
What do I get
From all that
Turmoil and fret?
It’s a lot different,
Now that my couch
Is nature’s hammock
Where I relax and
Take stock of dewdrops,
Exquisite and delicate in design
A balance of
Nature’s gifts divine.
No pretense, it’s all true and pure
Cancer brings presents
Of a different nature.

About the Book
This book is a poetic and photographic reflection of living through two cancer experiences and dealing with continuous and chronic cancer treatment repercussions.
I am blessed to live in an area where there are spectacular displays of the magnificent creative glory of God, and I can never pass up an opportunity to view nature's creations as God's handwriting.
Being able to express my cancer experience in poetry and photography has helped process my emotions through these trials.
My faith in God sustained me and I gained confidence in what God will do, from the knowledge of what He has done for me, throughout these 9 years.
