About the Book

Leafy G finds himself abandoned in the forest for being a leaf of a different color. He overcomes many obstacles of loneliness and growing pains. He finds and adopts Sissy as his own and together they teach the other leaves exciting new rules, words, manners and morals.

Leafy G was written to enhance the vocabulary and to promote a positive influence on today´s young minds. It sends a strong message of the beauty of unity. It has captured the attention of children ages two to fifteen and has been a welcomed tool for parents, teachers, and counselors.

About the Author

Selina and Cynthia are both natives of Sylacauga Alabama. From their earliest childhood memories, they were dubbed "best friends." At age 10 they won a writing/coloring contest. From this time in1971, Selina began drawing cartoon characters which Cynthia would create stories for. By 1978, they had a collection of stories, poems, and illustrations. Selina's creation of Leafy G was a fun, exciting, effective way of teaching her young daughter and later other children manners, morals, kindness, compassion and generosity. Cynthia Grimmett published her first collection of poems Never Cry Alone in1994. Leafy G and Sissy carries a similar message...the importance of cultivating true friendships.
