About the Book

Destiny’s Thunder is a love narrative, a saga blending romance and adventure, wherein Bobby Lovejoy, a gifted musician, during the “big band” era of the 1930’s and 1940’s, seeks to gain control of his perceived destiny. Woven throughout his musical odyssey is a series of events dealing with adversity and achievement in a bittersweet twentieth century. At the crossroads he is forced to choose between his passion for music and his love for a girl. He can’t have both. Laugh, cry, and rejoice as this novel speaks to the heart’s desire, and the soul’s yearnings.

About the Author

Retired from a long architectural career, Robert Gordon Cossey--Bob to his family and friends--turned to his lifelong interest in writing, however, the time restraints of his profession required that put his desire to write on hold until his retirement.

A native New Yorker, Cossey married a Mississippi girl whom he credits as being his inspiration in every facet of his life--including his novel, Destiny’s Thunder. They have made their home in the small town of Vancleave, Mississippi for more than forty years. Cossey denies that he is Bobby Lovejoy, despite the strong parallels.

The recent death of his beloved altered the book’s ending.
