About the Book

The most frequent complain about women is: We don’t know what they want. We say we want “x” kind of man, then run toward “y and z.”

Example: One of my old friends (a bohemian actress named Michelle) frequently said that she wanted to marry a man like herself (narcissistic, isn’t it) – whom she described as artistic, sensitive and intelligent, not to mention good-looking. However, she invariably hooked up with guys like “Dale” – a coke fiend whose idea of a date was McDonalds followed by a quickie in the Grand Central men’s room. He cheated on her numerous times, and explained his disappearances by claiming he was “hiding from the mafia.” Michelle eventually married a blue-collar type (earning six figures) who is also the antithesis of everything she said she wanted.

The point of I’m with stupid is that people usually get what they think they want (not necessarily what they really want, or need). And, like a good daddy’s girl fictional protagonist, the conflict between what the heroine wants and what she needs produces either a Greek tragedy or a happy ending. “I’d never want to join a club that would have someone like me for a member.” Yet I don’t want to belong to a club with any of these dolts I describe in it either. These are true stories from my dating hell…

Learn from my experiences..don’t repeat them. And wake up to what we really need…to understand, accept, and learn to love ourselves. (Men are just secondary).

Sundari Prasad was born in India and now resides in the U.S. where she is currently pursuing a PhD in psychology. She was influenced to write this book by watching too much reality t.v., drinking too many cosmopolitans, and smoking way too many clove cigarettes. She enjoys Mira Nair, Satyajit Ray, and anything with curry. She currently resides in Florida with her 4 cats. This is her first book.
