About the Book

1987...the year that crack cocaine is king, and Brooklyn´s beseiged Brownsville and East New York neighborhoods have been turned into free-fire killing fields by two rival gangs fighting for control over the lucrative illegal narcotics market. Enter 17-year-old Anthony Lorimer, a popular local deejay and star athlete, who, in the midst of juggling school, work and friends during all of the chaos around him, finds the loves of his life in Adeline, and the alluring Melinda--the shadowy Jamaican don-gadda who harbors a deadly secret. But, as the bloodletting between the Tivoli Posse and their Supreme Nation rivals spirals out of control and claims its share of casualties, a horrifying tragedy brings Tony and his friends face-to-face with some hard decisions that change their lives forever. Fast-paced, riveting and gritty, Live Without Caution, Die Without Warning is an unsparing overview of 1980´s New York and its populace trapped in the grip of the crack cocaine epidemic, where lives are cheap, the lure of easy money, high times and the violence seductive, and dreams can be shattered in the second that it takes to pull a trigger.
