About the Author

Amy Leavines, born Amy Jo Orr, was born in Baton Rouge, Lousiana on April 15, 1951. By age 5, she was already playing the piano by ear and trying to reach an Octave on the keys. Upon graduation she went to Alexandria, La. where she attended the Alexandria Trade School an graduated in Secretarial Skills. Her fist job as a Secretary at Central State Hospital in Pineville, La. She was Head Sectary and was training as a Counselor when she quit because of her pregnancy with her first and only child. After her son Matthew was 1 yr. old, Amy stated teaching Piano, Organ and Guitar Lessons. She went on to have numerous jobs with which she was happy with, but felt there was still something else she was suppose to be doing. She began writing a book. When one of her Aunts got Bone Cancer, Amy began sitting up with her every night. It was during this time that she finished her book & entitled it “The Mystery of Camp Airborne”. After her Aunt passed away it took her another 5 years to get it published because of researching it in the schools and with some of her friends.
