About the Book

Orphaned, homeless and exposed to unspeakable abuse, fifteen-year-old Anna Griffin runs away. With nowhere to go and no one to turn to Anna decides to join the band of “street children” in Georgetown, the capitol city of her country, Guyana, South America. But fate intervenes and Anna not only finds herself in New York, USA, but also marries a man who provides her with comforts and luxuries that she had never imagined. But life for Anna is not the perfect “happily ever after.” The demons of her perils in her native Guyana continue to haunt her.

About the Author

Stella Odie-Ali was born in Guyana, South America where she served as schoolteacher, social worker, politician and university lecturer. Her various occupations have taken her throughout the hinterland regions of Guyana, first as a schoolteacher in the Rupununi savannahs, then as a social worker with the Amerindians of Guyana, and later from 1985 – 1992 as a politician. She now lives and works in Fort Myers, Florida, USA.
