The focal of our story commences in Philamonia, Pennsylvania, the fifth largest city in America. The city mirrors the plight of many large cities today in 1996-1997. The shrinking job market is pitting ethnic group against ethnic group, due to large-scale downsizing, affirmative action, and reverse discrimination. The rise of militia groups around the country. The publics mistrust of the government. Terrorist bombings of government buildings. The changing political system of inclusion, Racial mixing, the Internet. It’s a novel about crime, drugs, gangs, schools, and communities. On a particular weekend, five deaths take place in various parts of the city, coupled with the attack on a black woman and her family in a white community, setting the stage for an all-out race riot that threatens to turn into America’s first race war.
About the Author
The Melting Pot is C.H. Bedford’s first novel. He is presently working on the sequel to the Melting Pot. An entrepreneur, married with grown children.
