About the Author

While pursuing an acting and modeling career in Los Angeles, Forman Lauren, a Long Island native, performed at local poetry slams. Word quickly spread about her intricate, multifaceted rhymes and she garnered interest from two independent record labels, which started developing her as an artist to bridge her distinctive poetic emotions with hip-hop beats. During the recording of her demo records, Lauren was lured into a world of all night parties filled with drugs and alcohol. Unable to sustain a destructive lifestyle, Lauren returned to New York to get clean. Her experiences provided the inspiration for MindSpace, her first book.
