About the Book
Sexual abuse, particularly childhood sexual abuse, leaves the victim with an internal well of pain, a soul as dry as the desert, and a heart as cracked and barren as a dustbowl field. However, Jesus offers the same living water to the abused victim as he offered to the Samaritan woman at the well (John 4:10-13 [NIV]). Living water can become a balm in the well of pain, transform the desert soul to a lush oasis, and bring the barren heart back to life. “Like wheat arising green” (“Now the green blade rises,” by John M.C. Crum, 1872 to 1958). Wellspring: A Woman’s Faith Journey is a collection of Spirit-inspired writings that chronicle the author’s own recovery from childhood sexual abuse and her journey of faith that brought her to a peace beyond all understanding and transformed her from a victim to a survivor. Wellspring is the author’s gift of living water to her fellow sisters in Christ and survivors of sexual abuse.
