About the Book
The story focuses upon members and staff of Oak Farm Manor, a home for the elderly and a very good one as these places go. The book begins with several chapter–length vignettes describing rather dramatic incidents at the Manor that illustrate the complex vitality of the nursing home environment and the remarkable life stories of the members. There is a section dealing with geriatric psychiatry and the human experience of Alzheimer’s disease. The story ends with the client’s making a determined last stand to preserve a beloved part of their environment.
