About the Book

This second book of Chidi Uzoma speaks about the world for the world. He takes on the plight of women, of human trafficking, culminating in baby prostitution. So also is beauty that is the Vatican Museums, identity—our understanding of ourselves: They say / under the trees / is man. All in a language not devoid of its musicality and evocations and history. In its ending, a message of hope: Let / the breeze, the Harmattan wind / make barbecue of reeds / bring forth replenishment of crops / and the sun its shining tonic / a new aurora.

About the Author

Chidi Uzoma was born at Port Harcourt, Nigeria and is an architect by training. He has published three collections of poems: Lemons of Oforula, Seasons of Oforula and I am but a Fragment of Oforula. His poems have appeared in many Italian literary journals and in different anthologies. He lives in Rome.
