About the Author

About the Author: Inspired by her vast collection of stuffed animals, “An Armadillo on My Pillow” is one of many creature features Stacy A. Hillmer has written. Stacy was born and raised in Waukesha, WI, attended Carroll College for her undergraduate degree in English, and is currently earning her Masters in Professional Writing at UW-Milwaukee. About the Illustrators: To capture the imagination of youth, Stacy recruited a group of fourth-, fifth-, and sixth-grade artists at her former grade school. The Banting Elementary School Student Illustrators were hand-selected for their creative abilities, and met with Stacy for ten weeks in the spring of 2007. Each student chose his or her favorite animals in the story, decided on their pose and personality, and brought them to life with watercolor pencils.
