About the Book

This book covers four short stories of children who perceive life as they see it. In the first story, I See My Teeth, it is a story about a little boy who has a difficult time accepting the fact that he is losing one of his teeth, to only find a new one is soon to replace it. The second story, Helps, is focuses on a little girl who wants to help her family but is not quite old enough to help. The parents intervene in a manner that encourages the ability to help but with an age appropriate circumstances. The third story, Hello Pickle, is a story about a young girl who learns a word from watching television and applies that word oddly with certain people she encounters. Although the word seems to be out of context in the eyes of adults, it is a word that the little girl sees as fitting in her world. The fourth story, Save the Slug, is a story of a new boy in school who keeps a banana slug from being injured during a classroom hike around the woods. He expresses his fear and acts on protecting an insignificant creature from harm.

Ruby Diamond is a mother of two. She lives along the coast of Northern California. She loves spending time with her son and daughter playing sports, traveling, working on art projects together, watching Miyazaki movies and other Japanese Animations and listening to a wide range of music.
