About the Book
It is very difficult to write about or even to explain one’s self to the world, but this is my feeble attempt at doing so. I am just a farm boy that is very blessed in being able to express myself fairly well with both a paintbrush and a pen. I started painting at age 12 when my grandmother died. That is when I learned to put my emotions, mainly pain, on canvas. I am now 35 years old and have been painting over 23 years. I began writing in 2003 after falling in love with a British poet. I lost her to a car wreck, which caused me to almost lose my mind. I could not find colors black enough to express my pain, so I began writing down my feelings. That is how this book came to be. A year later, I was nominated for several awards and walked with five awards in poetry. Now I am an accomplished writer/poet and artist. My British Angel would have been proud. “Never give up on your dreams, even if they give up on you!” I am still amazed by and thankful for my creative blessings, because I do strongly believe they are gifts. Not everyone is blessed to see life in such a way that I do, and even fewer can express the things they see and feel in a productive way.
