About the Book

Southeast Kansas offers the wildflower novice and professional an array of species found in prairies, woodlands, and disturbed areas. Species begin flowering in February, while others flower through the spring, summer and into late October to early November. Wildflowers of Southeast Kansas provides the reader some 300 plus species of the 1200 or more flowering plants that occur in southeast Kansas. It is also useful for the border counties of surrounding states - Missouri, Oklahoma and Arkansas. Each species is briefly described and for most, includes related species, medicinal uses, and other comments. A glossary of terms and references are included.
