Having worried for several months, that their bid to buy Devil Mountain from the Choctaw would fall through, they were finally relieved when it was accepted. But before they could move to their new home, they were faced with even more drastic news….But deeming it very necessary to make the move anyway, Upshur, and Rodney Taylor loaded their families into wagons and made the trip. And it is here that Upshur, as well as his friends would be tested once again. Upshur, his friend Rodney Taylor, and a Choctaw Tracker will face the most brutal and cunning killer of all, a monster who is almost totally insane,…an animal who can cover his trail like no one the tracker had ever encountered,…and this Lunatic had his sights set on Upshur’s, as well as Rodney’s family,…and he could strike without warning! Construction at the mountain was halted while tracking down the insane killer and in so doing, would drain their funds to the point of desperation, leaving them with only one alternative,…they were forced to sell gold from their mine in the mountain. But unable to sell gold in the quantity needed in Indian Territory, and with Banks all over the country failing,…they were forced to try their luck at the Denver Mint. Upshur and family would venture to Denver, but along the way, Connie is taken hostage in a holdup and Upshur, left with his children, must find a way to go after her,…and he is no tracker! Once again, he is thrown into the role of Gunfighter, only this time, he is in jeopardy from his past. An old wanted poster had emerged in the Sheriff’s office in Denver,…and the Sheriff has been entrusted with Upshur’s children until his return,…if he returns?

The people, their way of life, language, use of vulgarity to express themselves. All to show you that nothing has changed from then to now, except for the conveniences we enjoy. It was harder then!
