About the Author

A Man after God’s Own Heart Otis Lee Kemp was born and raised in Miami, Florida; he is the third child of the late Willie Sr. and Lillie Mae Kemp. He has been a member of Missionary Evangelist Center Holiness Church (M.E.C. Ministries) since its inception in 1971. Bishop Otis Kemp was the first Assistant Pastor of M.E.C. Ministries Miami. He worked in various auxiliaries such as the Music Department as the drummer, Transportation Ministry as one of the drivers and served as Deacon in the Deacon’s Ministry. He became the first pastor of M.E.C. Ministries of Fort Lauderdale in January 1990. Bishop Kemp has pastured with his wife, Vivian Kemp for over a decade. During this time he has established different ministries within the church such as the Youth Ministry, Marriage Ministry, Minister’s School, New Disciples Ministry as well as various outreach ministries. On Sunday, September 3rd, 2000, Pastor Otis Kemp was ordained Bishop in the first church he established. The church is named M.E.C. Assembly of Dothan, Alabama. Bishop Otis Kemp attended M.E.C. School of Ministry in Miami. He received an Honorary Doctorate degree in Theology from Christ is the Answer University in December 1994. Bishop Kemp graduated from Miami Northwestern High school in 1965. Later, he joined the Air Force and served in the Military Police until he left the service. Bishop Kemp is the husband of Pastor Vivian Kemp, also of Miami, Florida, the father of Dennis, Tonya, Lucretia and Otis Keith. He is also the proud grandparent of ten beautiful grand children.
