About the Book

Remembering is the second in a series of poetry written to soothe the heart and lift the spirit. The first, Echoes, was published in 2004. As with Echoes, the message is from the heart inspired by life, love, and whispers of yesterday. In contrast, it reflects an emotional journey through childhood days, recalling facets of family ties, camaraderie, and adversity. While some thoughts are fact and others fiction, the recollections are rooted in moments to evoke a personal emotion, set a purpose for tomorrow, and provide an insight for reflection. It is a means for sharing love, dreams, and inspirations to send a heart racing, free a heart of grief, or perhaps even offer a path for forgiveness. Open your mind and begin remembering . . .

About the Author

About the Author My childhood experiences revolve around a small southwestern Georgia town. Upon college graduation, I taught high school science and mathematics in Alabama and Ohio. After four years, I left teaching and entered the railroad industry (ASAB Railway, Dothan, AL). Having advanced to Superintendent of Car Services, I remained a dutiful employer for eleven years. This venture led me to my soul mate. In 1984, my husband and I settled in Panama City, Florida. At that time, I reentered the education field (Bay District Schools), where the experiences from my railroad career provided exceptional classroom/real-world connections. In 2000, I became a resource teacher with Beacon Educator and worked with teachers throughout the state of Florida until retirement in 2008. Today, my husband and I reside in Panama City Beach, Florida, enjoying retirement, playing golf and traveling as often as possible. This year we celebrated twenty-five years of wonderful marriage.
