About the Author
The author was born and raised in Baltimore during this time period, and is proud of the public education received. We could not help being patriotic as musical parades visited the main arteries of neighborhoods and Fort McHenry proudly waved the flag over the same waters that inspired the National Anthem. The city is not without blemish, however, and she tells it for better or worse as she saw it.
