About the Book
Up in the Bronx: A powerful first novel of a young man who “finds himself” by way of overcoming unexpected challenges: his exploits, his adventures, his redemption. A love story as well, with a cast of poignant New York characters who come together to weave a charming, yet dramatic story. Set in the Bronx of 1972¬–73, this novel is not your typical nostalgia-driven, commercial venture. (So if you were looking for that sort of tome, forget it and keep walking). However, the book does look back lovingly on our northernmost and best-beloved borough.
About the Author
Stephen Baum, AKA Bumbas, author of the critically acclaimed Up in the Bronx, , is a Los Angeles writer, bicycle rider, and self-confessed beach bum who busies himself with novels and stories. He also plays guitar, piano, and harmonica, writes original music, and apparently will do everything and anything in order to make a dollar without actually working. His philosophy is “Do no harm. And if you do, don’t bother me with it”. Check out his blog at http://bumbastories.wordpress.
