About the Author

Born in 1956, he got his first horseback ride from his uncle Ronnie Reidhead at age two! In one way or another, he’s lived and loved all horseflesh ever since! He’s cowboyed for John and Leonard Neal, in Kingman, Arizona, and the best cowman alive - Dick Tillman. Numerous ranches have helped him develop his skills. If asked, he’ll tell you that Bud Walker was the best man he ever worked for; full of cowboy pride, and always honest; as well as a true friend. Bud runs the Redburn Ranch in Stoner, Colorado. He broke his first colt for his teacher in the 6th grade, and has broke and trained countless horses through the years, including a horse he trained to rope. The horse was “Cowboy Power”, and in 1989 on July 2nd, Jimi and “Cowboy” were National Champion Header and Reserve National Champion Heeler at the National Finals of the Appaloosa Horse Association Finals in Albuquerque, New Mexico! He has a wife, and six children, whom he loves dearly! They all share a love of horses, and his son, Jimi, Jr., is a good hand in his own right. His hobbies are his family, team roping (both ends), hunting and country music (he write songs and plays the guitar!) He attributes his success, whatever it may be, to God and to his family! Both are very supportive. Jimi is a man who is loyal, who has great appreciation for God, family, friends and for the beauty of nature, and all of God’s creations. Jimi always finds the good in people, and never belittles anyone. (His motto.) It doesn’t take a very big man to kick someone who’s already down.
