About the Author

I am a forty-five year old proud stay at home mother of three boys Shane 21, Brett 16 and Tyler 14. I have been living with David for eighteen years and engaged for three of them. I was born in Toronto, Ontario but I was raised in Brampton, which is only thirty minutes north west of Toronto. For as long as I can remember I have enjoyed writing poetry. After breaking my back, playing hockey, I needed surgery and what better way for me to pass the time than writing. My poems were my sanctuary where I could escape and write about whatever or whomever I wanted. Even now, I would much rather write about how I feel instead of saying it. “Poetic Expressions”, is a journal, my journal written in poetic form. My poems are quick reads, about everything that has had an impact on my life. My poetry is raw, sometimes emotional and often humorous. I am sure you will enjoy reading them as much as I have enjoyed writing them. That includes the poems that are about loved ones who aren’t with us anymore. I find writing about them very comforting and it makes me feel closer to them. It’s also a way for my kids’ to know the beautiful people that I was blessed to have grown up with, that they will never meet.
