About the Author

Brian Hoerth is a twenty five year veteran police officer who works and resides in the central valley of California. Brian Hoerth found his poetic voice when he joined the United States Army in the early 1980’s and was deployed three thousand miles from home. As he served his tour in the Army his poetic expression helped him bridge the gap between his military life and his life at home. After returning home and joining the police department, he continued to write about those people and issues in his life that he felt passionate about. After years of consideration, Brian has chosen to publish twenty of his favorite poems in hopes that sharing these thoughts and feelings may allow others to enjoy this means of expression and understand that, regardless of who a person is on the outside, based on their career or what they allow one to see, there may be a lot more to the person one does not see on the inside.
