About the Book

Born androgynous, William Shakespeare must come to understand himself in a conservative, male dominated, Elizabethan world. With his dying breath, he journeys into his past, revealing scandalous secrets and saintly deeds. As a penitent, he questions his life, recalling conflicts, tragedies, and victories.

Rooted in historical facts, "Retelling" offers a humanity to the one called Shakespeare. It recalls how sexuality shaped and complicated the poet’s sense of self and motivates his introspective life. About the Author

Pamela Marie Koszut was born on July 12, 1982 in Chicago, Illinois. After graduating high school in 2000, she attended the University of Chicago where she completed her Bachelor of Arts with honorary distinction in English Literature in March 2003.
