About the Book

From a meat cellar in Barrow, Alaska, to an erupting volcano on the Big Island of Hawaii. Bill Thompson has seen a lot of America over the last 50 years. He has seen the New Year arrive on Bourbon Street and has seen a back alley factory producing thousands of fortune cookies in San Francisco. He spent eight hours looking for whales in Puget Sound. He started writing about these adventures and many more about five years ago. He describes what he has seen and tries to be both informative and entertaining. He hopes that the people who have been to these places will re-kindle their memories, and to those who have not been will consider going.

About the Author

Bill Thompson is a 4th generation Floridian. He spent over 47 years with the Orange County Public School System, both as a student and an employee. He was the first athletic director at the new Dr. Phillips High School where his teams won an unprecedented 14 state championships in 14 years. He now works part time with the school system. Thompson has been fighting Parkinsons Disease for about 15 years which eventually forced him into semi-retirement. He loves to travel and has been into all 50 states. He has written about a lot of his trips; these writings comprise most of this book. He is a private pilot. He lives alone but is often visited by two of his beautiful grandchildren and his beautiful daughter. He hopes to keep writing and traveling.
