About the Book

Serena Denali is a fifteen-year-old girl. She’s normal, in most respects. She goes to high school and loves going to the local club. Typical right? Except that her dad’s an abusive drunk, and her brother died on her thirteenth birthday, killed by vampires. Afterward she swore to avenge her brother’s death by killing any vampire that wandered across her path. She trained herself on how to defeat and kill them. For the past year or so she had been going out hunting and killing any vampire she found. But what if her brother became one of those vampires? Does she have the ability to kill him when he comes to find her? She meets this guy Jared. He’s beautiful and sweet. She really likes him. But there’s something off about him and her brother has been sent to kill him by Halloween. Could Jared be one of those she’s sworn to kill? Or is he there to help her? Who would hire Nathan to kill him? Is Jared good, or is her brother telling the truth about him? Is it even possible her brother still loves her? Who can she trust? Worse, will she survive till her sixteenth birthday?

About the Author

Julie Shelton is fifteen, just finished her sophomore year in high school. She lives in Detroit, Michigan with her family, who offer moral support when it comes to her writing. Her parents have always pushed her to be her best. She has three sisters, one older, two younger and all four girls are very close in age. Julie looks to J.K. Rowling as a sort of role model, a strong female author that has worked very hard to become what she is. Julie has been writing since she was twelve and hopes that this is the first of many stories.
