About the Book

Set in the coastal town of Bishop’s Bay, Australia, the story of Best Friends…Don’t Last, follows the life of fifteen year old Aimee and her relationships with her friends over the last two years of high school.

Broken hearted after her best friend of ten years, Jackie, decides that they shouldn’t be friends any more, Aimee moves on with her life with her other friends, Beth and Paige. Although, things don’t go easy for Aimee as she is good friends with Jackie’s boyfriend, Brett and when he invites her to Jackie’s yearly end of year party, it becomes clear that Brett isn’t as in love with Jackie as everyone thinks.

Then, when Aimee meets Ryan and the two of them start dating, Brett begins to show signs of jealously but when he finds something out about Ryan, he has to decide whether or not to tell Aimee the truth about her boyfriend.

Within all this drama, Aimee is persuaded by Brett, her brother, Sean, and her friends to make peace with Jackie before school is finished. But it’s when tragedy strikes, that Aimee must learn how to come to terms with the ever changing stages of life and her feelings for Brett; and with the help of her friends, finds the true meaning of friendship and forgiveness.

About the Author

J.A Charles was born in Queensland, Australia. Born in to a large family, she enjoyed a childhood with the freedom of the open land, and where her imagination ran wild. The passion for writing stories came easy to her and after completing a course in comprehensive writing, which improved her writing skills, she took a chance to follow her dream. J.A Charles has created many short stories and written a number of novels, this one being the first to be published.
