About the Author

Lena P. Mahone, the only child of older parents, lives on a small farm where she grew up in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. She graduated from a small local school and from Madison College, now JMU, with a BS in Education. She taught in primary grades for 12 years, then was employed by the Department of Agriculture for more than 26 years. She enjoys reading, writing, drawing and painting, crafts, Bible study, participating in church activities, and traveling to a variety of areas of the world. I was given an assignment to write something about a teaspoon. After thinking for quite awhile, I remembered the dish running away with the spoon in a nursery rhyme. I decided to make this spoon come alive and the story in this book developed in my imagination.
