About the Book

In Deanna’s wildest dreams, she never imagined that it would have taken her and her husband this long to conceive a baby. She was sure that God had told her four years ago during one of her morning devotions that it was time to get off the pill and prepare for motherhood. Had she mistaken her fantasies for His voice? Were they similar enough to confuse? Deanna’s subsequent thoughts regarding having children were that she would put up a little effort, mix in some Holy Spirit and “Viola," it was going to work. James Carrington, Deanna’s husband has to deal with demons of his own. For some unrevealed reason he has an eternal void that never seems to go away no matter how much he detaches himself from it. The lack of being a father only makes it worse. When it comes to being able to dig deep into his emotions to reveal his true self, James has always come up a failure. He guessed that’s why it was always easier to talk to women with whom he was not intimately involved and who could not see his true self. When the weight of infertility gets too heavy, he turns to his past coping mechanisms for relief.

Years after their infertility journey begins nothing soothes the dull ache the Carringtons feel when they are reminded that they are not parents yet. Everything in their lives suffers as a result. Their once together life begins to fall apart at the seams.

In this powerful tale inspired by the author’s life, you will follow the Carringtons on a journey through the pain and turmoil associated with barrenness. Ultimately, infertility is the exterior issue that impels them to focus on the true root of their problems. You will ride the waves with the Carringtons and their friends as their faith is tested when tragedy hits and they have to make decisions that change their lives forever. Through their ordeal Deanna and James learn what it really means to put their faith in God and to completely stand on His promises.

About the Author

Author’s Cover Bio Rhonda C. White was born in Chicago, Illinois. She is the only child, born to two educators. She received a Bachelor’s degree in Biology from Kentucky State University and a Master’s degree in Physical Therapy from the University of Indianapolis. She currently works as a pediatric therapist in the Chicago metropolitan area and is an adjunct professor at Governors State University. Rhonda is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated. She lives outside of Chicago with her husband and daughter. Loosely based on her life, this book is her first novel.
