About the Book
Slam follows the life of Serena Sanchez a young lesbian female who at once dealt with her abusive ex LaAsia and realized that she needed to leave. So she heads to North Carolina to clear her mind of LaAsia and soon meets another lesbian by the name of Kyrie. Kyrie and Serena becomes more and finds out that a local club is having a poetry slam Serena enters for a chance to have her poetry heard but another contestant enters the poetry slam causing Serena to become a strong Latina, strong enough to take on her true enemy….LaAsia. Serena will have to not battle LaAsia but also battle herself.
About the Author
I was bon in Brooklyn NY and was raised there until the age of 11, I than moved to Kannapolis NC a place where my mother thought would be good enough to raise her son. I attended A.L. Brown High School where I discovered poetry was very strong subject that I wanted to learn about so one year I entered the Young Authors Contest winning school, city, and county but lost at state. In 2003 I enrolled into King’s College and achieved and A.A.S. in Accounting but I never left poetry and writing behind. So I continued writing and realized that poetry was a second life for me.
