About the Book

Written in increments according to the times these reflections on my life’s journey, came to me during my time of meditation and prayer. The theme of the meditation came to me and stayed with me a few days in most circumstances, causing me to realize their importance and then writing them. Some of the reflections came to me in my experiences during my interactions with others, my children, their families, my relatives, holy priests and religious sisters and my magnificent friends, who have greatly influenced my piety, who touch my life with heavenly occurrences each and every day. Most significantly those who have allowed me the privilege to minister to them, who have given me purpose. The great God above all whom I give everything to dispose of at his will, for my will is feeble and many times wrong, so it is easy for me to put him in charge and turn everything I am and have over to him. Over the years, he has taught me how so that now, in my seventy one years, I am able to let go of the illusion that I am in control and let him. My test is that there has never in my life been a time that his mercy has not shown me a better way. This conviction never changes, no matter what the trial or tribulation is. There have been times of terrible tribulations but God has shown me in the Mass, Sacraments, his mother, Mary and mostly the Blessed Sacrament exposed in every Catholic church anywhere in the world, through this exposure, day in and day out, I have discovered that his will for us, you and me, a gloriously happy existence beginning the moment we discover his will for us. The old Baltimore Catechism I learned as a small child had as it’s very first answer—God made me to know him, to love him and to serve him in this world—and to be happy with him forever in the next. Walking into the Sacred Heart Adoration Chapel at St. Raphael’s each and every day or it’s Sanctuary for Mass, God is so present, and as I let go he is able to put me at peace. We have to be purified of all our false images to what peace and beauty is. Peace is trusting the culture of life to prevail. Of allowing a prolific Higher Power to build a heaven for every single creature in his plan. The format is the Holy Bible. In it, God uses major images to teach us the path. The mystery of the human person, psyche, physical, spiritual is spelled out in these images. It is what we do with them. This Creator, Son, Spirit is all we need. It doesn’t come in a flash, it comes gradual, through each experience, he is pointing out the dangers and telling us how to live. It takes practice, practice and more practice, going the extra mile, taking the extra step, stretching, moving in the direction of heaven. Being positive in a negative world means you are always facing the current, but you just get back up brush yourself off and try again. All the time he is there, helping you up, encouraging you on your way. I invite you to read what God’s will is for my life during the past six years. Hopefully, my next book will bring you even closer.
