About the Book

Part II picks up where Part I ended. Captain Will Storr is now awaiting to meet with his J.A.G. attorney, Maxwell Eversley. Captain Storr is more concerned with what happened to his girl, Princess Pe’tella than with his own problems of facing a possible full court martial. Max tells Storr he can get him off but at a price, a demotion in rank and the loss of his starship command. Storr is satisfied with this as long as he can still get into the war with the Alcyoneans. Max has a contact on Alcyone and Matt asks if he can find out if Pe’tella is dead or alive. In the proceding chapters the storyline follows the same time sequencing as in Part I. They transport the reader from one era to another whether on Earth or elsewhere in the cosmos encompassing centuries of history. We will learn more about the Orions and the Caribs. How Major Nelson and Ensign Jackson were used as Carib agents, where Jackson finds a way to break away from their evil clutches to plot, seek allies and revenge. How Major Nelson becomes Ambassador Victor Hennings this we already know from Part I but what about his time before he became Hennings, what was he up to? How does Jackson break away from the Caribs and what does he do with himself afterwards? Here is a hint: He will meet with Captain Storr where together they devise a plan to combat the coming Carib invasion. Before this happens, Captain Storr is forced to resign his Star Union commission due to the treachery of the dead Ambassador Hennings. He loses everything it seems even the possibility of his inheritance of the Ohio estate his mother gave him. Yes, it appears Storr will never have any redemption. But redemption does come (many years later after his less than honorable dismissal from the Star Union) when he is called back into service by General April Palely. As Part II gathers momentum towards its climatic ending, time is the enemy of all concerned. Do the Caribs have enough time to gather their disease weakened forces to invade? Does Jackson have enough time to gather allies to himself and to warn them that destruction on a planetary/galactic scale is coming? Do Storr and Palely have enough time to finish a new class of Orion based Union starships to stop the Alcyonean war juggernaut before it overruns Union forces and sets the Earth on fire? And finally does Starship Captain Will Matthew Storr have enough time to convince the Alcyoneans and Arcturians that all three races face the slavers whip and cannibalistic teeth in the genre of Satin better known as Mesh-a-Tare? Couple all of the above along with a revealed Orion weapon so powerful that its destructive yield can wipe out an entire solar system and you have the makings for an ending that will knock you into the next galaxy. Now, will you have enough time and the courage to open this book and read? R. S. Köehler

About the Author

R. S. Köehler was born and raised in rural Ohio. He grew up loving Science Fiction, History and the Bible. His college degrees for the latter two testify of this love. Even though a Christian, it is not his intent to be preachy in his Starship Captain series yet he gets his Judeo-Christian message across in a most indirect manner. Fellow Christians may argue that his writings are not Christian like. However; in order to make his characters as real and as believable as possible, he had to take some secular liberties.
