About the Author

Jeanne Gray Amato is a creative, intelligent, and multitalented individual. She has a background in music, is a gourmet cook, and has always loved visual arts. Her family and friends have long admired her pictures, as she considered herself an avid hobbyist when it came to photography. It wasn’t until a family friend who works in advertising commented on how professional her photographs were that she considered photography as a second career. Jeanne was married in her early twenties and later divorced. Raising three children, she needed to pursue a career that would enable her to financially maintain her household and insure her children’s pursuit of higher education. She decided to go back to school to pursue a career in health care, and has been an ultrasound technologist for the last seventeen years; she is board certified in four subspecialties in diagnostic ultrasound. Jeanne’s children are now adults, her son Dave, whose talents also lie in the visual arts, is a producer for a corporate multimedia group. Her daughter Julie is a successful sales representative for a corporation, and her younger daughter Laurel is a speech pathologist…..Whew! Jeanne is remarried and lives in Bergen County, New Jersey, with her wonderful husband Donato. She enjoys the many aspects of her career in ultrasound especially caring for those who are in need of her expertise. She has always had a propensity for helping others. She and Donato have been taking care of Jeanne’s ninety year old mom, Frances, who is living with them. Frances is happy to be surrounded by her family in what she likes to refer to as her “wonder years”! Jeanne feels very fortunate to have the capability and support system to take care of someone so dear to her.
