About the Book

After the death of their mother, Cecelia and her siblings encountered abuse, while being in the care of their grandmother. They struggled everyday from the hardships of seeing their father kill their mother, but yet Cecelia remembered what her mother once said, "Life isn’t a bowl of cherries, Don’t expect for anyone to do anything for you, In life there will be struggles, don’t be afraid to faced what ever comes your way." Being a teenager, Cecelia didn’t quite understand what that meant. While experiencing the neglect and abuse, she never gave up because she felt her mother presence watching over her. One afternoon her grandmother decided she didn't want her anymore so she placed her in a juvenile detention center. Cecelia was hurt because she had to leave the rest of her siblings behind. After being there for awhile she was placed with a lady name Mama Rosa who cared for abused and abandoned children. They became a family instantly and everything she went through while living with her grandmother wasn't anything compared to what they've been through. Cecelia lived with Mama Rosa for quite awhile until she died, then she had to move with her mothers brother Uncle Lee because her grandmother didn't want her. When she moved with Uncle Lee she was reunited with her siblings. She was happy, but she also experienced a lot living there, her youngest sister Cheryl started leaving late at night, hanging around with the wrong crowd doing drugs, Her sister Liz became pregnant and her brothers James and Johnny was falsely accused of breaking into a clothing store and Uncle Lee was diagnosed with prostate cancer which he kept secret. Uncle Lee didn't want to tell them about his sickness because he'd blamed himself for not being there when his sister needed him, he felt if he would’ve been there she'll still be alive. After awhile Cecelia started noticing changes in Uncle Lee, then that's when he told all of them he had only six months to live. Cecelia helped Cheryl to get off drugs. Johnny and James were proven innocent. Months passed, Uncle Lee died and Liz had a baby boy which she named him Lee. Before he died all he wanted out of them was to keep the family together and they did just that. They visits their mother and Uncle gravesites every year. Cecelia managed to graduate from high school onto college which she graduated with honors and currently working as a psychologist. She married her high school sweetheart, had one child and she also adopted two foster children. Cecelia now resides in her hometown where she was born Byhalia, Mississippi.
