Its design is well suited for works of art on canvas, in woodwork and jewelry. Many stage plays and Hollywood movies have used the symbol of the cross in its productions. They draw well-meaning folk together and they drive the vampires away. It is indeed a powerful symbol. The author wishes to tap into the power of the cross in this book. However, he focuses, not on the power that drives away, but on the power that unifies. Many of us have seen the images of our Lord as He hung on the cross. It was a bloody and gory sight. Even more spectacular than the gore, is the beauty of the cross. See the loveliness of an unselfish and loving God. See how He suffered it all to reunite mankind with his creator. There is much for us to learn there. Our lives, families, and our churches would be better off if we endeavored to live Cross-Centered lives.

About the Author

Alvin Tate was born in the late 1950’s to loving parents in small town in Eastern Arkansas. He and his 10 siblings were taught early in their lives of the importance of respect and integrity. His parents, Frank and Beatrice, made sure of it. They were people of meager means, but rich in culture and spirit. Alvin was made aware of his need for and his responsibility to his faith. He has learned, through the ups and downs of life, that nothing compares to the promise that we have in Jesus. He accepted the call of the Lord and has been involved in the ministry of His kingdom for 25 years. His story is not on of high accolades, but one of patience and endurance. Alvin is married to Earline and together they have one son, Benjamin. Alvin is committed to serving God. It is that commitment that compels him to reach out to his fellowman with love and hope.
